i don’t want a repeat experience of our 2nd band rehearsal last week- though the rest of the band says it was perfectly normal and ok. so i’m changing things up and now using audacity to create Laker’s basic tracks - with found sounds and vocal noises. then i’ll present the basic tracks to the band at rehearsal.

another rough night
this one, i suspect, was stimulated by seeing On The Cooling Board sunday night. it was a solo band, but the guy was singing, playing guitar, banging a drum, and banging another piece of percussion - all at the same time, and he had the words memorized too. i just don’t know how i am gonna do live shows - it’ll be a major accomplishment for me to memorize the song words, let alone ride...

i always want Laker’s music to be mainstream in terms of it being accessible to a lot of people. at the same time i want Laker’s music to be authentically connected to my, and the band’s, creative process. this is proving a tough combo to bring into alignment.
